Back on track!

Here's your weekly dose of inspiration to go further.

How was the little break? Much needed, right? Hope you got to recharge and that creative energy's flowing through your veins now.

Ready for today's newsletter? Take a sip of your coffee, and let's dive in:

1. Branding Insight — How obsession can be the driving force behind your brand.

Just think about it – obsession has led to some crazy inventions, like reaching the moon, huge scientific breakthroughs, and even supersonic air travel. It's also what's made tons of brands super successful and iconic.

Getting obsessed with focus might sound kind of out there, but trust me, it'll take you to some seriously awesome places. But how do you figure out what to obsess over and what to let slide?

Check out these 3 pointers as your guide to obsessing over the right stuff:

  • Authenticity: can you totally own it, like, for real?

  • Distinctive: does it give you that killer edge?

  • Impact: will it generate substantial revenue?

2. Tool of the Week — Notion

I'm pretty sure you've either heard of Notion, or you're already using it, but if not, here are 5 reasons to start using it NOW!:

  1. Note-taking and Documentation

  2. Database and Spreadsheets

  3. Knowledge Management and Wikis

  4. Third-party Integrations

  5. Smart Calendar.

I use it all the time for all my projects with every client. If you haven't tried it yet, this is your sign to do so.

3. Portfolio Spotlight

The Bridge is a villa in Bali, Indonesia, and we designed the brand for them; this property, which can accommodate up to 10 people, is described as an architectural paradise amidst Asian nature. The bridge is the main attraction of the villa. It connects different house spaces and offers a unique view of the landscape.

It was essential to mirror the villa’s personality in its image, as seen clearly in the minimalism in the composition and subdued colors. The simple san-serif typography conveys messages in the most direct way possible, without any distractions.

4. Q&A/Ask Me Anything (AMA)

I received a couple of questions from last week's newsletter:

Nick: Where do you find inspiration to create?

This might sound a bit weird, but I totally dig hitting up the grocery store to find some inspiration. It's like it's everywhere! Plus, I'm always snapping pics of random stuff. It's my jam; it totally gets my creative juices flowing, you know? Remember, you gotta go out there and hunt down inspiration; you can't just sit around waiting for it to fall in your lap.

James: What's the challenge you consistently face when starting a new project?

Phew, this is my Roman Empire, haha. Most of the time, the biggest challenge is figuring out what the client wants. It might sound crazy, but the client often doesn't know which way to go or what they're really expecting. And that right there is our mission, helping our clients navigate toward a clear direction of what they want.
