We need to talk about that idea you have in mind.
I can't read your mind, but I know you've got something up 👀
It's Monday (again), time for some inspo and insights. Like every Monday, I'm here to give you something more to weigh on... But before we begin, take this advice from Instagram’s founder and make it yours for the rest of the week:
"You don't have to be the best, but you have to be dangerous."
1. Branding Insight — Ideas don’t come out fully formed.
Have you heard Mark Zuckerberg's speech where he talks precisely about how the idea or 'eureka' moment can be deceiving?
I find this very important: Ideas are just that — ideas. They can come in different ways or forms but can only be capitalized on and take shape if you work on them. Leaving them in your notes app won't help at all unless you take the first step.
By now, you've probably identified that idea living in your head, rent-free. So, what's holding you back? I don't mean to underestimate your talent or ability, but your idea might already be in someone else's head, and if you don't act fast, you'll soon see someone else capitalize on it.
Don't wait for the perfect moment or to feel completely ready to start because, to give you a spoiler, you'll never be 100% ready. Taking action will make the difference between your idea and the ideas of thousands of other people out there.
What are you waiting for to start shaping your idea?
2. Tool of the Week — Magic
I’m a mess with my passwords, and I currently manage so many accounts. With so many accounts across different services, keeping track of all those passwords can feel like a bit of a mess.
Thankfully, there are now software solutions out there that can help us securely store and manage all our passwords. You've probably heard of 1Password—it's super popular for a reason. But there are plenty of other options too, all designed to give you that peace of mind and control you're looking for.
Magic is a great option; I've used it several times for various projects, and it really took a load off my mind. Remember, no matter which tool you prefer, the key is to keep your data secure.
3. Portfolio Spotlight - Peachy Patients
Peachy wanted to present itself as something opposed to what people think regarding medicine and medical bills: a cold, formal, and sometimes severe world. So, the main goal was to present this brand as someone warm, close, and easy to understand and to go along with.
Made for patients, by patients, Peachy is meant to be a trustworthy ally for every person dealing with medical bills. By giving them access to your medical records, they can help you break down every item that has been charged to your account and solve any question or problem that might appear during this process.
Peachy wanted to present itself as something opposed to what people think regarding medicine and medical bills: a cold, formal, and sometimes severe world. So, the main goal was to present this brand as someone warm, close, and easy to understand and to go along with.
Another challenge was the use of the peach icon, which, for some people, might have a sexual connotation. However, leaving it out of the brand would have been ironic, as it is included in the name.
We created an inclusive, fun, and honest graphic identity using warm colors and pop elements. For the peach icon, we turned it into a heart that represents the medical world but also conveys empathy, closeness, and care. At the same time, we mixed it with a peach by adding a leaf at the top.
We designed a friendly brand for all users, ensuring that Peachy doesn't become a reminder of the complicated medical issues and bills but into a friend who understands you, someone you can lean on.
Ready! You've got your weekly dose of inspiration. Don't forget to pass this newsletter along to someone who might find it helpful.
